Reducing your CO2 Footprints with Pallets

Updated: Jul 29, 2021

If you read our last article "recycling with us" then you probably know, last month we recycled enough pallets to cut our personal foot prints by over 2100 tons.

But now it's time to go even deeper into 'how wood pallets help reduce CO2'.

You see, CO2 (carbon dioxide) emissions are one of the most detrimental forms of pollution contributing to global warming.

According to sciencing.com,"The major threat from increased CO2 is the greenhouse gas effect...excessive CO2 creates a cover that traps the sun's heat energy..." and "Plays havoc with earth's climate by changing weather patterns."

So if CO2 can change the way weather acts, how could wood pallets help? seems impossible right?

Well that's where you're wrong! Wood pallets may actually be one of the most convenient ways to reduce our individual CO2 footprints.

You see as trees grow, they absorb CO2 from the atmosphere. They release oxygen (O2) back into the air and use the carbon (C) to produce sugars and fiber for growth, incorporating it into their leaves, twigs, solid woody stems and surrounding soil.

According to both the British Broadcasting Channel (bbc.com) and The American Wood Council (awc.org), "wood products continue to store carbon indefinitely...wood stores carbon as opposed to emitting it (and) compromised of about 50% carbon by dry weight."

So in the end, what does this all mean for us as a company and for you as the customer?

Well it means that our efforts and successes in being a business built on 100% recyclability, are well founded! And the work we put into it is truly worth every penny.

So by using Guero Pallets, not only are you helping us with our efforts to go completely green; but you also get quality products that help the environment and save you money at the same time!
